DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING |
|
India is an agriculture dominated country and revolutionary changes in the application of technology for the development in agriculture
are urgently required to feed its large population and to make the country self-sufficient in food production. Agriculture engineering is a vast discipline in itself encompassing the application of different engineering sciences like mechanical, civil and electrical etc. aiming at technological advancement of Indian agriculture.
The college started B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering in 2007. The aim was to impart quality education to equip the budding agriculture engineers for utilization of latest technology in agriculture and related fields. The department has qualified faculty and well equipped labs like Surveying and Levelling lab, Soil Science lab, Soil Mechanics lab, Hydrology lab and the workshop. Laboratories are also equipped with latest machines required for Agriculture Engineering.
It is proposed to develop this department in such a way that it may rise to new standards and establish itself in the field of R & D to develop means for farmers to be benefited the most.
