The Aligarh College of Engineering and Technology (ACET), has been established in 2001 with the main objective to provide quality education in the various disciplines of engineering and technology in Aligarh region where facilities of such education are at present highly inadequate compared to its socio-economic needs. 

The Jawahar Vidhyalaya Society, registered under Societies Registration Act XXI, promotes the college 1860. The vision of the fonder is to setup a college of excellence for high quality professional education. The college is situated on Mathura road only 2.5 km from Aligarh. Aligarh railway station is an important railway junction on northern Railway located on Delhi - Hawrah main line. Mathura also is an important railway junction of North - West railway on Mumbai- Amritsar main line and Chennai - Amritsar main line. New Delhi is the nearest Airport. Bus service is very frequent from Aligarh to Mathura and Mathura to Aligarh.

Aligarh city has become a major educational center. It has a Central University and several major and well-established post graduate colleges affiliated to Agra University. The college campus is well planned. The location of the college is in lush green, pollution free surroundings - an environment conducive for teaching and learning in the process of personality development. The Campus has been designed elaborately, keeping in mind the long-term needs of the College.
